Jesus came to show us who the Father is.
The Gospel is very easy to summarize. It is about a Father who lost His children and would do anything to get them back. Jesus came to show us who the Father is, according to Eric and Helena de Kruik, Fatherheart Ministries – NL, part of the international ministry of James and Denise Jordan.
During one-week conferences (called Fatherheart Schools) we give teachings about the Fatherheart of God, in which both a solid biblical foundation as well as a personal encounter and revelation of the Father are the central events.
John 17:1 says: Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Jesus’ ministry had almost come to an end and here He prays to His Father. His last words before he starts the way to the cross. Words that summarize His ministry on earth. At the end of this prayer, Jesus says in verse 26: I made known to them your name (Father), and will continue to make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
This was the desire of Jesus, this is what He came to do and what He is still doing today. Making the Name of the Father known to us.
Jesus spent approximately 3 years with the disciples. During this time He told them everything about the Father. He showed them how much He loves the people. He told them: Look at me and you will know that my Father loves you the same way as He loves me and you can freely come to Him.
Despite of everything they had heard and seen, the disciples didn’t understand much of it. In John 14:4, shortly before the way to the cross, Jesus says: Where I go, you know, and you know the way. Thomas had to admit in all honesty that he really didn’t had a clue where Jesus was going. In the following chapters Jesus explains again everything about the Father until, at the end of chapter 16, the disciples say: Behold, now you speak plainly, and speak no figures of speech.
After the resurrection Jesus had an encounter with Mary. He repeats His words about the Father also to her, by saying: go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. (John 20:17)
Our deepest desire is that everyone will discover that Jesus has opened the way to a loving Father who loves us unconditionally and that we may live as Father’s sons and daughters.
